Edward Teach or Edward Thatch (c. 1680 – 22 November 1718), better known as Blackbeard, was an English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of Britain’s North American colonies.
Teach was a shrewd and calculating leader who spurned the use of force, relying instead on his fearsome image to elicit the response that he desired from those whom he robbed. He was a tyrannical pirate, he commanded his vessels into harming and murdering those whom he held captive. He was romanticized after his death and became the inspiration for an archetypal pirate in works of fiction across many genres.
This Ring was found in an old drawing of teach found in an old book about piracy, the image was not as clear as the ring is now, but we left the details to our imagination.
The incredibly detailed Ekwipaġġ Pirata has been hand carved into wax by TGF designer Reino with the help of very strong magnifying glasses, a steady hand and a lot of talent. We think it’s one of our best pieces to date and hope you like it as much as we do!
